How To Maximise Your Home Space

Updated: Sep 24, 2018

Interior Design Singapore: We often worry about how there’s never enough space for anyone in our homes. But are you maximising your home space to its fullest potential? Here are some ways you can utilise your home to make the most of the space allocated to you:

The balcony space

The balcony is often overlooked by many homeowners, but interior design Singapore designers are very much aware of its bursting potential. When you’re struggling to find space in your home, why not turn the balcony into a useable space? For example, you could turn your balcony into an al fresco dining area for when you're inviting guests over!

Using your washbasin

In any given interior design Singapore HDB flat, the washbasin is again overlooked in any bathroom. Therefore, here's a great way to utilise the space beneath the sink. Why not build yourself a couple of drawers for storing your bathroom essentials like towels, rolls of toilet paper and spare shampoo bottles.

Staircase landing

Even living in a maisonette can also lead to you running out of interior design Singapore storage space. Time to put that stairwell or landing to good use with a bookcase or display cabinet to maximise the floor space. Alternatively, you can take advantage of the ceiling height and suspend lights from the ceiling to create an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.

Ceiling space

If you want your home to look unique with a feature wall or other interior design Singapore elements of your choice, look at the ceiling if you want to implement something a little on the lighter side yet not in any way obstructive. While the ceiling is for the most part typically left untouched, installing a feature can make quite an impression especially as it helps liven up the space.

Corridor space

The narrow corridor that leads into the bedrooms from the rest of the home is a space that's often annoyingly disregarded and a waste of valuable space. But what if we told you these long and narrow interior design Singapore spaces can actually be put to good use? For instance, if you feel that the corridor is too narrow why not turn it into a gallery by mounting family photos on the wall to beautify the space.
